Early is better, but it is NEVER too late!

A Conversation with Dr. Bre Gentile

What comes to mind when you hear “It is never too late”? For me, it brings up feelings of hope and a yearning for something that is yet to come, but still possible.

Dr. Bre Gentile, one of the 7th Annual CRI Conference keynote speakers firmly believes that when it comes to understanding and healing from trauma, it truly is “Never too late!” Dr. Gentile specializes in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and adverse community experiences. She is an innovator and speaks to groups and communities about ACEs, protective factors, and the 7 Domains of Wellness as tools to use with the families we serve. These domains, including supportive relationships and mental health, can have a ripple effect in our own lives, and in the lives of our children and grandchildren. What are the other 5 domains? You will have to join us to find out!

Dr. Gentile is a product innovator and researcher. As an innovator, she talks to leaders and community members to find out where the gaps are and where there are missing programs, training, or learning. She is not afraid to ask: “What is the risk to the children, families, and communities we serve if we don’t fill that gap?”

One gap that she often sees in individuals is that as people get further away from their trauma, they often begin to soften the blame of who caused the trauma and instead focus the blame more inwardly – on themselves, often leading to shame; or project the blame onto others, leading to uncalled for resentment. We have to solidify who we are first and acknowledge where the blame lies without focusing on it. Once again, it is never too late to learn, grow, fill in the gaps, and heal.

Register to join us at this year’s CRI Conference to hear Dr. Gentile – before it is actually too late.
